Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

My favourite film is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by the British author Roald Dahl. The hero is a boy called Charlie Bucket. Charlie lives with his parents and four grandparents near a chocolate factory. The factory is owned by a famous man called Willie Wonka. Amazing sweets are made at the factory, but it is a mysterious place because no one has seen any workers going into the factory for a long time…

One day Willie Wonka tells people that five gold tickets are hidden in his bars of chocolate. People who find the tickets are invited to his factory. Everyone is excited! Charlie dreams about being one of the winners, but it doesn't look like he has got a chance. His family is very poor and he is only allowed one bar of chocolate a year, on his birthday. Luckily, Charlie finds some money in the street and when he buys a bar of chocolate, he finds the last golden ticket. Among the other four winners are Veruca Salt, a spoiled rich girl, Augustus Gloop, a gluttonous kid who stuffs his face with sweets,  Violet Beuragarde, a champion trophy gum chewer,  and Mike Teavee, a kid who spends more time watching TV and playing video games than anything else! However, only one of them wins in this mysterious competition!

I liked the film because it has an amazing plot, the special effects are great and the music is fantastic. Also, there are some very funny scenes with Oommpa Loompas, the workers of the factory, and the rest of the four kids who are nasty and behave badly. Finally, I think it is a fantastic film and I recommend it to the whole family!
